Question:
United States and nukes?
2009-06-13 00:24:19 UTC
I've been wondering this for a while now, what with the North Korea thing and all.

Who the hell do the US think they are telling other countries that they're not allowed to have nukes, but at the same time the US brags about its thousands of nuclear warheads?

Since the USA has become an unstable country(Conservatives threatening armed revolt) I don't see that we have any right left to lecture other countries. IF the Anti-American Revolutionaries were to change their rhetoric maybe we would be able to stand on the moral high ground as we did before 1998 but have not been able to since.

Arrogance and Nuclear Weapons do not mix and can only lead to disaster.

a million) the possibilities of a nuke hitting DC are rather low. If we get hit, this is ny or la, as a results of fact they are important coastal cities with great delivery ports. it may be plenty greater handy to get a bomb right into a sort of ports by ability of hiding it in a delivery field on a shipment deliver. Even it is particularly no longer likely in any given day. the US would not preemptively nuke yet another united states and that i do no longer think of any nuclear armed international places could nuke the US. it may be suicide. the US could probably respond with a huge strategic nuclear strike that would obliterate the aggressor united states. yet sure, if we've been attacked with nuclear weapons, i'm constructive there could be a violent reaction by ability of utilising a nuclear sub. that's what those "boomers" are there for. They prowl around the oceans waiting for the order to launch their missiles. the main important nuclear danger the US (and the worldwide) faces is the prospect that a rogue ingredient (terrorist team, etc) could get their hands on a nuclear weapon and use it. Their is project is that there are old soviet nukes that have long previous lacking as a results of fact the autumn of the U.S.. different achievable materials are N. Korea, Pakistan, and quickly Iran. it is between the excuses the US supplies plenty financial and militia help to Pakistan. we don't desire to work out Pakistani nukes fall into the hands of terrorists if the Pakistani gov't falls. The united states interior the main danger of nuclear destruction is Israel. they are in a region the place very nearly each interior of sight united states is unfriendly, and a few have called for Israel's destruction. it is the likely source of a nuclear replace. every physique interior the worldwide believes Israel has a minimum of a hundred nuclear contraptions (nevertheless they neither confirm or deny this). it is likewise standard that Israel has bought 3 German missile subs. Israel must be very nearly destroyed by ability of a single nuclear attack on their soil. They know this. If Israel gets hit, the gloves will come off and that they're going to ruin Iran, Syria, and every person else they see as an enemy. no person is particularly constructive what happens from there.

When I was growing up (not sure who was president then, I'm 54 years old) they were referred to as peace-keeping missiles. I think that is a good term to use in today's world as well.

I don't think our country would be stupid enough to use a nuclear weapon nowadays unless things were completely horrible and there was no other alternative and it was the last resort to protect our country. Do I think that N. Korea or Iran would do the same? I don't know and I am nervous.

Ever since Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the world knows what a nuclear weapon can and will do.

I think one piece of advice I can offer to you and to everyone who reads this is to "know nukes" vs. "no nukes". We have nuclear powered submarines and nuclear power plants and are reasonably safe and amazing in terms of production and not pollution. We must understand the technology before we bash it all.

I hope in all of our lifetimes we never have to use a nuclear weapon, but would I want our country to get rid of all of ours? No, they are protecting us this very minute from God only knows what, sadly.

Do you want a nuclear war with North Korea yes or no? If no then they shouldn't have nukes because if they do then were gonna have a problem here.

Just look at it this way. If I hate your guts as in really really hate them and I would eff you up the first chance I get do you think it would be a good idea for me to get a gun?

Maybe you wanna die, but the rest of us don't okay and quite frankly most of the world think North Korea is one messed up country and don't trust them so really giving them the means to obliterate and entire city probably not the smartest thing to do.

Hmmm. I'm an American, and I have actually asked the same question. I am always told that unstable countries can't be trusted with nukes. They may use them for bad rather than good. That they are radical. My answer is that we can't say much since Bush got us into a war with Iraq that I still don't understand, and that was radical. No one answers me then. North Korea is so communist, and uncaring of any other nation though, so I dont like the fact that they have nukes. It does scare me.

There is no world police force to keep dangerous nations from taking out a large chuck if not all of the planet's population.

It would be better for the people of the United States if there was, as their citizens have suffered a severe financial burden for decades as well as loss of life in attempting to keep peace and order.

Perhaps a better question would be why have some of the other powerful nations of the world not invested in trying to create order through building up real systems of enforcement, instead of just running their mouths at the less than useless United Nations and bragging about how much they devote to UN works when it does not even begin to come close to the amount the people of the USA have sacrificed to maintain a military that the rest of the planet takes for granted will somehow always be there to make sure they are safe. This means Europe.

I think the whole planet, including the United States respects and desires China to grow and step forward and be a partner in keeping world order and avoiding a future nuclear disaster coming out of a crazy nation with a crazy leader, but no one can make China do anything it does not feel up to handling or desire to handle for any number of reasons.

I don't think the U.S. brags about it, but its a good thing we do have them. I think its our nukes and the capability to hit any country on earth that have kept us safe all these years. I am absolutely ok with our president telling N. Korea not to develop them. Kim Jong Il is a nut.

I would rather trust the US than an unstable theocracy or dictatorship. Loons like the one in charge in North Korea are scary if they have nukes.
