I think that the smoking ban is silly.

Older cartoons should be respected from a historical standpoint because they can tell so much about the times that they were created in.

Sure, there might be some "embarrassing" things in our history, but we can use that as an example of what to learn FROM history.

I also don't agree with how cartoons have been edited to take out "offensive" portrayals of African Americans. Like it or not, it is a part of history, and it should NOT be allowed to be edited to create a more "PC" entertainment~!

Watching Tom and Jerry never made me want to pick up a cig. Parents need to teach there own kids right and wrong. It's like blaming Buffy the Vampire Slayer for teen violence. Ridiculous.

It's the parents job to censor what there child watches. I know I do. Government should not be involved.

Yes, things should be censored but not by the govt. or bible thumpers, but by the parents of each individual child. I don't like seeing a program and half of it is censored, that is not what I want, if a parent feels that a show is too violent or too much sexual inuendo, then that parent should block the channel to prevent the children from watching it, but by no means try to have it censored because there are many Americans that don't agree with them.

Considering that I watched countless hours of Tom and Jerry and other cartoons smoking and never became I smoker, I find it ludicrous. I even ate boxes of Candy cigarettes (gasp!) and never smoked. This is what happens when people who think everyone else is a gullible as they are get a little bit of power.

i'm working intently to get this replaced. How can a be conscious that describes a stable element be undesirable? Ridicule is a particularly stable weapon. tell Marissa Mayer, CEO of Yahoo, that a Yahoo is a semi-human, sexually aggressive lady with undesirable hygiene each and every time you notice her. Ask her approximately her horse. tell her approximately Gulliver and Jonathan fast. And the beat is going on. something or each and each guy or woman named Yahoo has no corporation correcting each and each guy or woman's language. So, there! and you're yet another one.

i think I've seen fragments of cartoons involving much more violence than the classic 'tom&jeryy' it's true that some sceens may involve violence or aggresivity but i bet is not much more that children see in everyday life, or on the streets. and they are comic, basicaly that's the purpuse.

oh, and i detest cartoons with robots. am i the only one?
