Why should your enemy apologise for being your enemy....Its a two way thing isn't it. the IRA were bound to negotiate with Hitler because, with the refusal of America to get involved at that time, It looked like Germany might just take Europe. and although Germany was never going to take Britain, Ireland stood apart from the rest because of its strategic position, the British would have to move more troops over, thinning the available fighting force even more, from the German point of view and from the IRA point of view the IRA would have the help of German special forces, and german military equipment. The might of Germany behind its bid to rid itself of the English. You can clearly see their reasoning. Though all the idiots were doing in reality was swapping one master for another. y'know, with German air bases all over Ireland, we wouldn't have stood a chance.

anthony your banging on about the English do you have any idea how many Irish family's moved to England, im an Englishman owing to the fact i was born here and im proud to say it, ive never done anything to offend the irish, i have nothing but affection and admiration for the irish owing to the fact both my parents are Irish and so is my entire family except for myself and my sisters who are Irish decent due to the fact we were born in England and there are 100's of 1000's more just like me who are irish decent and proud of it, you know nothing about the English people you little bigot and the only person here who needs to get over himself is you, you go on about troubles i grew up in the 70's and went through my entire teenage years fighting near enough every day due to my Irish background i got stabbed more than once and kicked around the floor a few times but that was not down to the English people it was down to a few english bigots the only difference between you and them is your an Irish bigot, these days its no longer a problem irish community's and culture are part of the norm and completely excepted as part of England's culture, so try putting your brain in gear before your mouth.

I am not in the least surprised that 24 year old Anthony is accused of racism. He is a semi- literate as well which says a lot for the education system. It always amuses me that so many people purporting to be Irish slag off the British but rush to come and live here and then spend their time saying how wonderful Ireland is .

I don't believe they did apologise, but I wouldn't really have expected them to either. We never beat the IRA in the little 'war' that we had later in the 70's. We called it 'The Troubles', yet it really was a war that tied down half of the British Army at it's peek.



Personally, I'm glad that 'it seems' to have ended, and happy that we can live in some kind of peaceful status quo. I don't think that stirring up a hornets nest is a good idea, and I'm not sure that apologies from them are really appropiate when we ourselves acted in underhand ways against them. War is a terrible alternative, just let sleeping dogs lay.

Not that I know of in fact I doubt most people are aware they did collaborate with them to get rid of the English.

I don't think many people are aware they also traded arms with the PLO at the time of the Munich games.

They only good thing to come out of 9/11 was it stopped the terrorist activities of the IRA in its tracks when their funding dried up.

Firstly, I'm not sure what language you're speaking but it's not English, I assume your education was somewhat lacking, it must annoy you also that your native language, i.e. the widely spoken one, is English and not Irish. Your comments demean the contribution made to the UK by many Irish men and women. There are a lot of Irish men remembered on war memorials in the UK and Europe who gave their lives fighting in the British navy, army and air force in any number of wars. I would like to suggest that you wake up, grow up and shut up, preferably in that order.
