Why does the average Democrat want it passed?
Why do Republicans fight it?
What are the pros and cons of health reform; the views for each side.

Please don't give me any biased/favored opinions, I'm just trying to get updated.

Republicans are not against reform. They and the majority of the American people are against the convoluted bill in congress. The politicians themselves do not know what is in it. It will cost trillions, will not go into effect until 2014, even though taxes will go up immediately.

As far as the respondent who says we are lagging, is that why people who need immediate and the best care (including the Canadian politician) coming here for care.

We all want reform but this is not the answer.

Democrats want health reform since they believe health care should be for everyone not just those fortunate enough to afford it. They also believe that America is lagging behind with most other major countries all having state sponsored health care.

Republicans fight it because they are fortunate enough to be able to afford healthcare, and don't feel that they should have to help others who are in need, they look out for themselves in this case.

Pros - Health Care for All

Cons - Small Increase in Taxes (which are low anyway in the USA compared to most other countries)

I tried to be unbias but it's hard to tell the truth of the matter without sounding bias.

The heath care hype will pass as the dems look for more issues to blow up, Look for a "crisis in Immigration" reads amnescy , "a crisis in education" read gov-paid college. "Crises in Land" read gov-takeover of more land. and on it goes. Never will the dems really help, as their party has been taken over by the socialist ideologues hell bent on turning America into another Socialist sewer.

My doctor right now is pitching a fit because hmo is making it hard for him to do his job. personally I want decisions about my health care to be made by me and my doctor not someone who isn't even a doctor much less know me to make them.MY health care should be left up to my doctor not the government.
