The democrats and the Republicans were both given the same right to start a public talk show that had to be self supported. The democrats were unable to fund theirs because like everything else they do, they ran it broke, the Republicans ran their like a business and it is doing well, It is getting the truth out there and telling the people all of the sneaky things that our Senate is doing. Now Nancy Pelosi, and a few of her cronies, want to stop conservative radio from being produced and they are trying to force they to give the democrats equal time. They are also trying to take away each Radio owners rights to air any of the conservative messages. I believe this infringes on our freedom of speech, do you? Shoulden't we stop the Democrats from doing this? How will we ever find out the trut if they extinguish talk radio?

Just imagine how they would squeal if the bias in the nation's newspapers were attacked in the same way. Let's say, fine, you can have your attack on talk radio but we demand as a counterbalance that all other forms of media (broadcast TV, cable, newspaper, public radio (as opposed to commercial radio), etc.) be balanced as well. If we need a "Fairness Doctrine" let's make sure that the result is truly fair. This would stop them in their tracks and expose them as the hypocrites that they are.

For those of you who feel that this would endanger our free speech rights, we have already crossed that Rubicon with the campaign finance reform. Now we are trying to stop the losses.

Of course it isn’t right for them to try that. Isn’t there one of those pesky amendments that allows for conservative talk radio? Or are those freedoms reserved for those that exist only to harm or put down others. The left is so pathetic, so weak at it’s core that even with overwhelming control of TV, internet, and print, it still can’t pull in the interest that conservative talk does, so they try to ban it. Shame that the law that they are looking to pass doesn’t cover any media outlets that champions for the left, like everything else.

I love it. A radio program is broke thus the liberals have nothing. Except for TV (love how the Simpsons views the Republican Party), the Daily Show, the Colbert Report, oh heck Comdey Central; the internet. Tell you what, we will get back to that little radio show later.

I don't think this is happening. But holding these broadcasters accountable is a good idea. Equal time now is also worth considering. The problem is that there are too many stations owned by single corporations - and the broadcasting regulations as they are today can not assure these stations are acting in the " public interest, convenience and necessity" if only ONE point of view is expressed to millions of listeners and viewers. All we have is an uncontested and unbalanced corporation that operates under a partiular point of view.

These are public airways. I would feel more sympathy if Clear Channel did not own most of the radio stations and control the content and playlists. Lets have REAL talk radio.

Well if you can remember back in the day Hillarys good friend Tipper Gore ( Al's wife ) started the PMRC in 1985 I think ..which originally tried to ban music and led to the removal of rock music and magazines from American stores including Wal-Mart, J.C. Penney, Sears, and Fred Meyer.

Instead of banning the music they settled for the warning labels which we have today ,

Many record stores refused to sell albums containing the label (most notably Wal-Mart), and others limited sales of those albums to minors. The label became known as the "Tipper sticker". Some politicians attempted to criminalize the sale of records to minors, while others attempted to completely ban such records..

During this time of Wal Mart refusing to sell any record that was not properly censored , or beeped out was done when Hillary Clinton was Chair Person of the Board Members of Wal Mart , so NO it does not suprise me that Democrats are all for censorship ..

How will we ever find out the truth if they extinguish talk radio?

That is not truth. that is biased opinion.

Having said that, this is a "free country", with freedom of speech. Rush and the rest have their right to speak as they wish.

Who's truth? I think that anything any politician tells us is a candy coated misrepresentation.

But to answer your question, if what you say is true and not one of the candy coated misrepresetations we are fed then no it should not be allowed. Especially if you believe in the freedom of speech. Everyone should have the right to speak their truth.

I support freedom, not democrats or republicans. I support the ideals of our forefathers.

I believe that attempting to stop conservative radio is an enfringement on the 1st amendment.

They are the first ones to cry about freedom of speech but then they don't want that freedom for everybody. It's a bit hypocritical if you ask me.

You said it all. The liberals can't support a talk radio station, so the solution is to draft legislation to stop the conservatives.

But, it won't happen. When the Democrats sent a letter to Clear Channel calling for the firing of Rush they would basically told to shove it.

They're whiney little babies that cry fowl when the don't get their way. They're just bent because Liberal Talk Radio just doesn't work. They've tried, and tried, and tried but fail everytime. Look what happened to Al Franken and Air America. Liberalism is just to weak of a structure to withstand the test of time. Liberals don't hold on to any ideology long enough to see it through. They just go with whatever is happening now and in a few days/ or weeks they'll moveon.org to the next B.S. topic. Here's an example - has anybody heard from Michael J. Fox recently? There just is no fabric to their way of life.

if the democrats succeed in their stalinization of america, truth radio would simply go underground...you can't stop the truth. many have tried, many have failed.

While normally I wouldn't agree to fascist ways, nothing would make me happier than to see that slimy PROPAGANDIST Sean Hannity off the airwaves.

"They ran it broke?"

First of all - hire an English tutor.

Secondly - BUSH has "ran it broke" when you're talking about America. How big do you think NINE TRILLION DOLLARS IS?
