America becoming less religious? Video games? Gun culture? Something else entirely?

This is a map of incidents (prepared by Mark Gongloff of the Huffington Post) only since Sandy Hook, which wasn't that long ago.

What do you think is the cause?

Some of them are old-fashioned shootings for the usual reasons, and just happen to be on school grounds. Others are by narcissistic and suicidal fools who actually study previous shootings and emulate them, because being infamous is becoming culturally desirable.

By the way, the supposed mollusk (I'd suggest it's actually two other parts of his anatomy that are unusually connected) has no point: English murder rates are stable for over a century, since before they had their gun laws, while US muder rates, though much higher, are dropping, and drop more in areas where people more easily go armed. Israel, where you can simply drop in the nearest police arsenal and borrow an Uzi; and Switzerland, where fully automatic assault rifles are ubiquitous, also have very low murder rates.

Guns.

That's all.

(I am intrigued, though, that it even crossed you MIND that "video games" might be responsible! That's a bold theory indeed, given that the first video game ("Pong") was invented in 1972 ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pong ), and School shootings have been happening on a fairly regular basis in North America since 1764 ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/School_shootings_in_the_United_States )...

More people forced into poverty, out of work, miserable jobs, etc.

Total despair!

Isn't that the change that Obama supporters wanted?

Am talk radio has to be a contributing factor.

Some of their ratings-challenged hosts (according to the ratings service Arbitron, 88% of radio listening is to FM radio, and an ever-increasing percentage is going to satellite), in order to try to build an audience that will create a buzz for them by asking people if they heard what he said, will say things that will instigate and incite people, and those on the outer fringes will take their form of action.

Not the total cause, but a factor.

The majority of those shootings occurred in liberal leaning states. That should tell you something.

Religion has nothing to do with it.

360 million guns DOES have something to do with it.

Religion observance in the UK is 10%, a gun homicide rate 1/40th of the USA. Norway, Sweden Germany and France ALL have less to do with a fat man in the sky, and we all have far lower homicide rates.

Easy success to weapons

Edit

Lol, all those thumbs down without a single thought or even an argument.

Oh really? Well let's take a look at those "mass school shootings" that lefty gun-grabbing Bloomberg's Everyman campaign claims now shall we?

Another fake shooting listed by Everytown gun map (a Bloomberg gun control group) was drug related, not on campus.

http://www.myfoxatlanta.com/story/22648057/suspect-arrested-in-fatal-shooting-near-morehouse-college

and ANOTHER fake school shootimg…A gunman ran onto campus, was chased by police, shot student ACCIDENTALLY.

http://www.tcpalm.com/news/2013/feb/07/shooting-reported-indian-river-state-college/

and ANOTHER fake school shooting… 19-year-old shot in elementary parking lot over dice game at 9 PM:

and ANOTHER fake school shooting…Gang-involved student accidentally shot herself in thigh:

http://www.ajc.com/news/news/local/student-wounded-at-grady-high/nWbhG/

and ANOTHER fake school shooting…UCF college student committed suicide in public:

http://articles.orlandosentinel.com/2013-05-31/features/os-ucf-shooting-incident-investigation-new-20130531_1_james-oliver-seevakumaran-ucf-police-department-former-ucf-student

and ANOTHER fake school shooting…Teen committed suicide:

http://www.myfoxdetroit.com/story/21755974/davidson-middle-school-closes-following-8th-grade-students-suicide

and ANOTHER fake school shooting…Off campus, gang-related shooting in NC:

http://www.wvec.com/news/escu-221819011.html

And I could go on and on and on with Bloomberg’s misleading “74 school shootings” campaign.

And never mind that gun violence has been steadily DECREASING over the past 20 years:
