the u.k prime minister is going to step down in a years time, mostly cos of his denial with the war on iraq, why won't george bush do the same? hasn't he made enough money from the oil in iraq?

In the UK there are no political time lines unlike the US. Bush must step down as President after the new President is elected in November 2008 and sworn in in January 2009. Blair, as PM and leader of labour Party, must call an election before his majority term is up. If the labour Party was to choose a new leader at a leadership convention, then that new leader and new PM could chose his/her own date for an election.

Blair made the difference betwen the kind of man he is, and the kind of person Bush is, plainly evident when he acknowledged that he had made errors of judgement in pursuing war in Iraq.



He then demonstrated his respect for the people he governs by agreeing to step down in response to their requests that he do so. I don't disagree that he hung on longer than he should, but whatever anyone may think about him as a person, it takes some degree of grace, personal integrity, courage, and a desire to serve the public interest, to step aside.



Bush obviously doesn't give a rat's patootie either about owning up to his mistakes, what the American people want, or what's best for his country or the world. He'll hang on to power at all costs for as long as he possibly can. He's in it for himself, not for the greater good.

In America we have a process to remove a president. Its called Impeachment.



Our Congress and Senate vote to remove the president. But one problem....as you remove the top guy, everyone below him moves up a step.



Well our vice president, 2nd in charge is Dick Cheney. A real money hungry, war hungry person. He is the puppet master behind our president and is doing much of this war stuff.



To remove a puppet and put the master in control would just result in worse situations for America, Iraq and the entire world.



Cheney is the type if he had the power....he'd push buttons on Nukes without thinking twice. That is why the masses don't talk about impeachment in the USA. To remove one evil man only replaces him with a worse man.



Most figure if we can change our congress and senate during this next election in a few weeks, then this will stall the president in doing anymore damage till he is voted out in 2 years.

Bush won't step down because there is no need to. The people who were going to benefit the most from this fiasco have benefited. So at this point, Bush is the perfect distraction so that other things can be done behind the scenes.

Bush doesn't have to step aside. He feels he can violate the supreme count without rebuke. Like Nixon, he will see he is not above the las.
