Gun control and the democrats?

We all know now that the dems are in charge they are going to go after our 2nd amendment rights. Why go after the guns when care kill just as much if not more. Should they be banning cars as well??

The age-adjusted death rate from firearms was 11.3 deaths per 100,000 population in 1998, a 7.4-percent drop from 12.2 in 1997 and down sharply from the high of 15.6 in 1993.

It's obvious they are just control freaks, pissed off that they couldn't get an extension on the "assault weapons" ban, even though statistics showed that the ban did NOTHING to curb gun violence by criminals. So now that they are in a position to reinstate it , it is high on their agenda as soon as the gun hater himself gets into office.



I would ask purple sock to READ the assault weapons ban. It goes way beyond limiting WHO can buy a firearm, it takes away the right of a law-abiding citizen to buy the many popular guns that were on the list. There should be NO limitations on law-abiding citizens.

And in the control of obama and his fellow nazis it's only a stepping stone.

I am a 2'nd amendment believer. It is my Right and not a privilege. Alot that happens in politics are "Feel Good" policies and laws but none the less detract from true action and penalties and you can quote me"Do not act, or stop criminals in behavior unbecoming of a law abiding sportsman, Personal protector of property, neighbor, and fellow American". It is sad truth about bogus laws. Do not worry about the good people, be concerned of the rogue people. If there is no punishment for those who do wrong, what is the reward for doing Right?

The Second Amendment will never be taken away from Americans. There might be some restrictions to who may BUY a gun but that is it.

It is true that if there are no guns, then the crime rate will go up. If guns are banned, people will still find guns anyway.

I'm a democrat, and I own four guns... my dad's a dem, too, and he owns 21, most of which he inherited from HIS dad, who was ALSO a dem.



They're not coming after your (or my) guns, quit being such a paranoid yutz. Most dems want a ban on full-auto assault weapons, which I could care less about... I wouldn't mind having an FN P90 or something like that, but there are MUCH bigger issues on my mind right now... like how many of us will have work in a few months...

We all now know you do not know what you are talking about. The big gun control legislation that you want the Democrats to take credit for was the Brady Bill. Started by Mrs. James Brady, Ronald Reagan's Press agent who was wounded in the assassination attempt and sponsored by Republicans and Democrats. You should get your facts straight, otherwise you just come off as another lunatic fringe who only hears what he wants to hear. And I will bet you don't give a good god damn about anyone else's Constitutional Rights. You strike me as a one issue guy with little capacity for looking out for anyone other than #1.

You cannot compare the level of suffering between a person who is killed by a car accident and a person who is killed by Anthrax.



It is MIRACLE only 5 people are killed by it, both for the potential infectees and the people who make the stuff in the first place.

Exactly I don't get it and never will. They believe in abortion, but do not believe in guns. They ARE just control nuts. Once you take a nation's guns they can't fight back. That is what is kind of scary. If our government becomes this way people are going to revolt.
