US wont support us in the Fawklands, Europe takes all our money and forces us to comply with their laws.

Lets ditch them both and reform the commonwealth with a few of the old countries and some new ones

UK, Canada, India, Australia, Japan, Saudi Arabia maybe South Africa.

This is a group of countries that could really do some good together.

There are 54 independent sovereign states that are members of the Commonwealth. Antigua and Barbuda, Australia,Bahamas, Bangladesh, Barbados,Belize,Botswana,Brunei,Cameroon,Canada,Cyprus,Dominica,Gambia,Ghana,Grenada, Gambia,Grenada,Guyana,India,Jamaica,Kenya,Kiribati,Lesotho,Malawi,Malaysia,Maldives,Malta,

Mauritius,Mozambique,Namibia,Nauru,New Zealand,Nigeria,Pakistan,Papua New Guinea,Rwanda,

Saint Kitts and Nevis,Santa Lucia,Saint Vincent and the Grenadines,Samoa,Seychelles, Sierra Leone,Singapore,Solomon Islands,South Africa,Sri Lanka,Swaziland,Tanzania,Tonga,Trinidad and Tobago,Tuvalu,Uganda,Vanuatu and Zambia.

Japan has the world's second-largest economy and Saudi Arabia has it's own Monarchy why would they want anything to do with the UK? Canada wouldn't want to get involved because it's neighbour is the USA, not to mention the french population.

So how much good are you going to do exactly with Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and a load of 3rd world countries?

The population of the Falklands are free to live in peace, but what right does the UK have to start drilling for oil. Surely if anyone is going to drill it should be the Native inhabitants of the Island, which comprise of 61% Falkland Islanders.

No. Europe and the US are Britain's largest trade partners. Without those two, and their investment/trade, the UK economy would crumble. The islands are called the Falklands*, and the US has an official position of neutrality. You have to understand that Argentina (and the rest of Latin America, who back Argentina) is also an ally and important trade partner of the United States of America. As is the United Kingdom. Without offending either party, Britain or Latin America, the US supports a peaceful solution to the problem. If asked, the majority of Americans would support British rule in the islands, seeing as the islanders themselves consider themselves to be British. It is not the US's fight to be in. Israel, Japan, and Saudi Arabia never have been and never will be Commonwealth countries. Hong Kong currently is not a Commonwealth country, and has much closer ties with China than it does with Britain. Also, reform the Commonwealth into what, exactly? The member nations of the Commonwealth are sovereign, self-governing states free to do as they choose.

Because the Commonwealth countries now have much bigger fish to fry and would probably ignore us or laugh if the UK attempted to turn back the clock like this. The US is also not particularly interested in a UK outside the EU - they want us as an ally in the EU camp, not outside it.

Reforming The Commonwealth would be a great idea.

Just set up a Free Trade Agreement within The Commonwealth that way the poorer nations can get a slice of the cake.

I'd put in strict controls to ensure it doesn't end up like the European Union.

Commonwealth Realms, Great Britain ,Canada, Australia, New Zealand are already coming together on Defence projects.

Good Idea!

Yes i think that is a more preferable arrangement a Commonwealth of independent nations working together on some issues and trading. The EU could of been a commonwealth of nations but is going the other way and taking away sovereignty and robbing us blind.

No, because if you do so you'd put us Canadians in a particularly bad spot.

As much as we love the mother-country in no way would we jeopardise our ties to the USA and if the Commonwealth were brought back our attention would be forced upon it (preferred treatment) than with the USA which we can't have.

Sorry Canada would not be a participant in it. Plus, your better off in the EU .. hell I wish the Queen could force Canada to join along with you, then you wouldn't feel so isolated.

I like your thinking. Maybe we WILL get back to being a major force again!!!

No thank you. As a Canadian I believe we should be cutting the remaining ties to the English monarchy, not rebuilding old ones.

What a wonderful idea.

I rather think the countries you mention would have a different opinion. I'll stick with the yanks please.
