Its the damn reps fault....bush, mccain, and rep leader couldn't get enough vote from their own party....how funny

WHATS their argument ?? Nancy pelosi made mean comments which hurt their feelings....WOW wtf.....if we have ppl who vote base on one person's opinion and not the WHOLE country's well being than we seriously need to reconsider who we vote into office.....

How can anyone seriously blame the demos for this failure its ridiculous....the plan you came up with and expect all of your opponents to vote on it 100% when you don't even have 10% of your party vote to start with ????

republic leader blaming the demos for not having 100% vote when he, bush, and mccain couldn't even get 50% on their side ? gtfo

People who don't support the 700b plain are just ignorant....it benefit the well being of everyone....that alone is enough common sense to do it....AND its a good investment by the government which mean tax payers will get their money back...

you don't want to take out a small portion of your check to pay for it but you risk losing your whole check/job house etc....? say goodbye

The entire us House of Representatives and Senate. This mess just didn't happen, it was coming for a long time. And, contrary to Senator Obama,'s thinking, no one is going to slap together a solution in one afternoon so he can go about politicking.

As Senator Dodd said, " this could have been avoided, this could have been prevented. " Therefore, Why T F wasn't it???

Did you ever screw up while doing your job?? I worked for a manager, who usually asked two questions.

1./ What are you going to do to fix it??

2/ What are you going to to to prevent it from ever happening again??

FYI 12 democrats on Barney Franks own committee voted no.

The argument is that the government should not interfere in the free market.

If you want other alternatives read

"Under the alternative Republican plan, the government would set up an expanded insurance system, financed by the banks, that would rescue individual home mortgages. The government would not have to buy up the toxic mortgage-backed assets that are weighing down financial institutions."

Plus, increasing FDIC insurance so that people will keep and put more of their money in banks and cutting capital gains.

How can you say it's a good investment when they call it "toxic" paper?

Thank goodness for conservative Republicans. Maybe they can all get together and come out this week with a better proposal. Talk about toxic....this bill was toxic.

And I have to respond to ticker....last time I checked this was a democracy. They work for the people. We the people have the power. If you want to live in a dictatorship I can name a few countries you can visit.

A few corrections, you sound like a democrat by the way. The democrats messed up the economy since they got into congress. Think our taxes our high now? Up since democrat congress, will be way up if Osama becomes our president. Don't like him being called Osama? He did take $8 Million from Arab countries and terrorist organizations for his campaign. But back to the bailout plan, I don't think I should have to pay extra taxes, YES the bailout was tax dollars, to bail wall street execs out of their failing things. I also think that if people buy stuff they can't afford, then they should loose it apposed to others having to bail them out.

Plain and simple, it is the voters fault.

The bail out is wildly unpopular.

Voters flooded their representatives with their concerns.

Politicians are facing elections in a few weeks.

So, this time, being so close to the elections, they listened to the voters.

Blame the people on this one.

You can't have it both ways two years ago it was''we won we are in control'' Now it's'' all bush's fault'' this is a sign of a weak and deceptive leader

You can't ask people to work with you than go on national T V and state we fixing it but it's all their fault when it is not

I am happy about it.

I blame the banks for being greedy and now they want help.

My tax dollars should not go to them.

Take that 700b and give it to the taxpayers and tell

the ceo`s to take a hike.

That will definately raise the economy.

Could it have been that 80 percent of calls by voters to representatives were against the bailout. What a disgrace! Representatives actually representing the people!!

I guess most people dont think...IT BENIFIT THEM!

Someone is stupid here but I don't think it is The American People.

Mostly I blame the congressmen who voted against it and the voters in their districts who put pressure on them to do so.
