As long as the majority on each side of the isle continue to bow down to their leaders instead of the electorate. Until enough moderates are elected and are willing to stand up and actually discuss issues we will continue down this path.

Our country deserves better then what it has gotten from either side of the isle or from the administration. All politicians care about is getting even with the other party for what they did when in power. You investigate our president so we'll investigate yours, when you were in power you abused ethics so it's okay if we do and on and on.

Well the country was not founded on socialism. All the way up to JFK, our leaders and people believed in hard work, ingenuity and independence- it is our work ethic that won us praise across the globe and won WWI and WWII. Educating our children that they cannot succeed, that they owe the government nothing and that the government owes them and generally breeding in a lack of work ethic and a sense of entitlement is what is destroying America. No one opposes safety nets for those that slip through the cracks but those who have the physical and mental ability to provide for themselves should do so. No one making $60k + a year should get free health insurance, that is insanity.

Illegals are draining the economies of the southwest and must be dealt with. They have no RIGHT to be here.

Most soldiers understand their mission and do NOT feel you are supporting them by pushing for their withdrawal without a victory.

When Bush sought to reform SS you all screamed and claimed there was no problem. Raising taxes is not the answer to economic problems and raising the FICA tax at the rate proposed by the dems is not either- How about 1/2 % tax on income from $60k/yr up to a million or some other small fraction of a percentage up to a higher number rather than the full burden added to more middle class wages???

Government health care no, I don;t like that idea. Reigning in overly inflated costs for health care and the undue influence of insurance companies in order to make health care more affordable yes, it requires no increase in the Fed's power.



Your second point is unrealistic, and most people know that. It is the ultimate goal though, they came here illegal so deport them whenever we catch them.



Most would argue that the Iraq War was pointless, but that bringing troops home before Iraq is stabilized is only go to lead to more problems in the middle east and more blow back for the USA.



There have been too many "tax reforms" for most people to trust the concept anymore. Tax reform rarely does anything besides create more loopholes for friends, sponsors and associates of the politicians then in office.



You also blended two different things, tax increases and tax reform. They are not the same thing. You can increase taxes simply by creating new ones, while tax reform doesn't neccessarily imply tax increases or cuts.

Nothing will ever be solved by Government. Politicians are nothing but winners of a popularity contest. Solving problems makes people unpopular with part of the whole group so they let the problems slide to remain popular with more people.



There is no such thing as FREE HEALTH CARE. My tax money will be spent on someone else as usual.

Any greater role of government in our health care system as counter productive,



Any talk of immediately deporting all illegal aliens as unrealistic and cost prohibitive,



Any talk of bringing troops home before stability can be maintained as shortsighted (against the war initially, so try not apply 'chicken hawk' too liberally)



Any budgetary discussions that leave out cutting spending as naive and only half the battle.



And last, I am very skeptical about any "accomplishments" ever made in Washington.

Affordable and accessible health care and free health care provided by the government are drastically different things.



Amnesty provided to illegal aliens is a simple nullification of a law. You might as well ignore all of our laws.



Everyone wants our troops to come home safely, especially those of us who are actually serving in the armed forces. However, there is a job to finish.



I'll remind you that the Republican congress before the current group of esteemed politicians currently serving, along with the republican president reformed the tax system and lowered taxes.



You would be wise to thoughtfully consider the "big picture" before blindly casting criticism. There are a multitude of issues that can just as easily be considered blindly liberal, but pointing them out as radically as you have doesn't solve them, it only makes one look foolish.

Things are getting accomplished but unfortunately, it seems to be at our expense. It should be widely known and accepted that most people are falling behind. It seems acceptable (valued) that some will get it all and others will get nothing. Where is the humanity? My father has said that we cannot compete with the Chinese because we won't live the way that they do. Although it seems the Hispanic population (I'm sure others as well) will live in crowded and subpar conditions. Although, I will say that I know of plenty of people that have moved in with their parents so more native born Americans are living in more crowded connections because they aren't making it on their own. Natick, MA is a very affluent town (wasn't always that way, recent phenomenon) and they are experiencing a lot of foreclosures. Housing is extremely expensive. A brand new 1 bedroom condo is selling at $419,000 and above. That's a 1 bedroom. Is that not insane? You still need a car and probably have to buy a parking space as well. That parking space probably costs around $100,000. Natick is about 20 miles west of Boston.

Our quality of life is declining. What will it take? The rich are great at hiding the problems that exist. If you don't see it then it doesn't exist.

If you want to see the outcome of government run healthcare look at the Veterans administration. It's a failure. I've got many good friends who are vets who have to sit for hours to see if they are eligible for services. I prefer to be able to decide who I see, and what kind of services I need.. I should not have to worry about whether it is eligible for payment. If I choose to pay for services out of pocket that should be our choice.

Medicare/Medicaid are 1960s extensions of ponzi schemes that have increased the cost of healthcare substantially because of compliance issues demanded by the fascists in the bureaucracies.



Taxes should be level. No one person should pay more as a percentage of their income. I truthfully favor the Fair tax. It does more for the "poor" in terms of tax savings then anything. The only downside is politicians lose tax policy as political leverage.

Some politicians favor fascist style control of healthcare and other free enterprise entities where government tells private enterprise who they can serve and how much they should get paid.
