On Talksport radio last night the presenter said there was a demonstration against this arns exhibition.
I was under the impression that the government wanted weapons off the streets. If this is so then surley we need to be asking why they are allowing such an event in this country.

Arms exhibitions are for governments to buy weapons to use on each other.

Not for individuals that want to use them on each other in the streets of London.

And why was it held in the UK? You'd prefer that it be held in some nasty little third-world country rather than a place that has some nice tourism and people that speak English? Hrmphh!

I don;t think showing tanks and planes to other nations trying to make sales is the same thing as some thug on the streets with a 9mm.

Why not? We have a very good arms industry so why not hold an exhibition? Its one of the few exports we have left in this country.

Ohhh an I used to listen to James Whale but I just got so board of him. To left wing for my taste.

Come on now... I'm from france, I love weapons, all sorts, it doesn't mean that I'm gonna want to buy one. There is a difference between weapon exhibition and weapons sales

There is no room to admire the technical genius that is a firearm in your country? Come on. They have airshows, but can you and I jump in an F-16 and go blow something up if we want to? No. Its about admiring something that demonstrates the capability of man to achieve something when he puts his mind to it.

ha ha ha.

This wasn't an exhibition of handguns. This was top quality arms that the MOD use, as well as tanks etc.

The people protesting were protesting about the war!

Maybe because it is a reasonably free country where people are free to apply their trade?

I really don't know abut the gun laws in the UK - are the citizens (subjects) free to have guns?

How else are our Armaments companies going to sell their goods? They are selling things like warships and Jet-fighters; I doubt that you would find many of those on your street!

I think you'll find it was serious military hardware, not flick-knives.
