Why is it taking the president so long to debate sending more troops to Afghanistan?

Why is Obama taking so long to send the much needed troops ? Is is trying to appease the left, rather than sending the much needed help to our guys fighting for our butts over there ? I'm giving him benefit of the doubt of his caring for our guys welfare over there, but it is falling away very fast. This should be a priority. HELLO...................

Give Blood... if that were the case then he wouldn't have acted the way he did initially to health care reform, would he have? he wanted it approved with out any debate and without the legislation even being reviewed first. then one week it's all about public option, the next public option wasn't important any longer. not once have he listened to the advice of the people who will be paying for it.

p.s. the war should be our priority and who knows the situation better than general mcchrystal, our commanding general on the ground? he has been begging for a troop increase for weeks. it should be a no brainer. activate more reserve and guard units! get it done! our generals command military operations and we give them that authority because it is what they are experts at doing! mulling over the issues will only cost most of our soldier's lives and that is an expense that is more important than health care. dead troops don't require free insurance, they need a better commander in chief.

This Administration realizes that alot of people realize that America is only in Afghanistan to protect the poppy fields from being burned by the Tailban and protecting the oil pipeline. Prior to 9/11, the herion from Afghanistan had almost completely stopped, since the U.S. started protecting the poppy fields, there has been record production and now 95% of the worlds herion comes from Afghanistan. Only those who are totally misinformed believe that we are fighting terrorism in Afghanistan verses protecting the U.S. multi-billion dollar drug business. Only in America.

Edit: The health care thing was an attempt to have our representatives get together and put together the reforms we all know are needed. That didn't work any better than Clinton's attempt to force it through. Unfortunately the republicans that own the insurance industry are afraid they might not get as much money so they are doing everything they can (including telling outright lies) to stop any reform. After all if people were worth anything they would earn enough money to pay the outrageous insurance fees.....Wouldn't they?
