Who else found the British opening ceremony at Beijing,embarrassingg to watch?

I found the whole British opening ceremony stuff at the Beijing olympics, really, really bad. I mean the whole london bus stuff, i mean what was that supposed to be? I mean do people really go, i can't wait to get to London, so i can ride on the bus? i don't think so. I mean are'nt your worst experiences of London on the bus? What's so great about the bus? i just came off it the other day, hardly impressive. And then David Beckham who does'nt even live here anymore, kicking a ball, wow, NOT! and then rock musicains who are old enough to be your grandad. And the fact that it followed quite an impreessive Beijing ceremony, it was just well terrible! would you not agree? If the Olympics itself turns out like that, then i won't be proud to be British, i'd be rather embarressed!

Your so right, as soon as I saw the London Bus covered in that silly "false" grass I new we were in "big trouble" no imaginantion what ever, and I bet peoples around the world thought the same as us.



Dear old "Boris" did`nt seem to know what to do with the flag,I could have told him what to do with it.



Its going to be a "disaster" and we will become the laughing stock of the world......But "COE" and his cronnines will make "huge" amounts of money out of this. and thats what this all about.

Every country thats hosted these "wretched" games in the past are "still" paying off the "debt" they got left with, and the "stadiums" are in decay and are now "white elephants" and monumunts to a total waste of money.



We as a country could`nt organize a day out in a brewery, they should have let some other "sucker" country have it and let them waste all their money.



I see now "coe" is asking the government for more money, and will get it as they won`t want to lose face............its just a massive gravy train, we will get nothing out of this only the "BILL"



Ofcourse none of the sports people would agree with any of this.

Well not me that's for sure, which is surprising because it's in the British psychy to be negative isn't it, as your question proves. I think the organisers of London 2012 are going to struggle with the games from a British point of view, because the British are so used to moaning and complaining at every little thing. But I'm sure the rest of the world will think it's a fantastic games no matter what we think. (This kind of negative attitude towards the games makes me ashamed to be British).

Haha, when you put it that way ... it was rather embaressing. However, we need to take into account that many asians and whatnot visit the UK as tourists so really, they would probably have found the display exciting. Maybe its the fact that you're used to the buses and seeing it next to the "slightly grander" Chinese stuff was weird.

BUT... When my American friend came over she couldn't wait to ride a double-decker bus!! I don't know why though... It's like the worst form of public transport here, and ridiculously overpriced!! Really not impressive...

But hey China didn't do so good either with the whole pretty kid miming to a not-so-pretty kid's singing!

But hey no one expected us to do good did they?????

I thought it was great for a small budget example. You only get what you pay for and the money was tight. Perhaps, if you are that concerned, you would consider donating more to the UK Olympic Charity to help them out
