I'm not rich at all but am I greedy if I allow others to keep the money they earn especially if they are much richer than I?

Greedy if you are already rich. Ignorant if you are not.

Lol I sense a self answered/rhetorical question?

Personally I don't like tax breaks for the rich. I have rich relatives and they are jerks. My mom was in the hospital unable to pay bills and guess what they did, nothing. My mom sacrificed her education for her sister in Vietnam (my mom worked to allow her sis and other siblings to go to high school, etc) and she does nothing back. Nice huh?

Sometimes they don't earn it from a hard day's work. Sometimes it's just "gambling" from the stock market. (Face it, the stock market is gambling. It so is.)

Apparently I found out that the reason why rich people live in Beverly Hills is that oil is underneath their land? And that the government doesn't charge property tax for land sitting on oil apparently.

My mom works FIFTY hours per week at a frenetic pace and she is unable to take care of her self (she has no frivolous expenses whatsoever)... partially because her medical bills (cancer) are ridiculous. I now have to move home with her even though I'm a starving student because I have to take care of her.

I think it's a shame when in a country as rich as the United States, A FULL TIME JOB isn't enough to sustain yourself only.

The only thing my mom and I can do now is kill ourselves. Can't rich people buy a regular house and a regular car? My mom's lifelong dream of living in a house will probably never come true and it makes me angry.

Edit: And by rich I mean mega-rich.

Edit 2:

My mom is 58. You're supposed to have an easier time as you get older. At this rate my mom will work until she dies. Just like my dad. All of this makes me so angry.

Since rich people generally own the businesses that employ the non-rich, I don't have a problem giving them some tax breaks. Some would say that removing their wealth and distributing it to the poor would be a social boon, but frankly, many of the poor wouldn't spend the money wisely, and wouldn't have jobs any more, either, because the rich would have no incentive to own businesses that employ....you get the idea.

Also, rich people pay more taxes than poor people already, so there's nothing to really feel guilty about.

The rich are taxed high enough already. Understandably there are loopholes I hear but I'm sure they still pay exorbitant amounts, 50% plus.

I think they are already taxed to high at this point and I'm not rich either.

Obama's plan to tax the rich is just a ploy to attract more angry poor voters, its smoke and mirrors.

Just like his plan to tax oil companies, you'll pay more for gas if he does so, you really reap nothing and he reaps your vote on your stupidity, seeing why I don't like the man yet? The former Pres. of Shell oil said this would happen, he should know.

EDIT: JXT299, Like we're really going to believe that your a republican, your a dem faking as one, you didn't fool me you jerk. Nice try though, I bet you had some going.

yeah democrats complain about tax cuts all the time, when in fact not even half of americans pay an income tax. See the dems want the rich to support everyone so that the can appear to be the good guys by giving tyrone a welfare check every month because he would rather sit around and sell crack out of a HUD house instead of getting a job. Look i am all for helping people out and the only way to help someone is to help them help themselves. Look get rid of the income tax and corporate tax crap its a joke anyways. Instead have a high sales tax and that way everyone has to pay taxes, even tyrone when he goes and spends his welfare check on $200 shoes

I can't think of a single reason why us rich people should have to pay anything to keep this country afloat! Why should I care if the government goes bankrupt and can't afford to educate anybody or fight epidemics or maintain the roads or keep poison out of the food and air and water? Let the middle class pay! I have a collection of yachts to maintain, and mansions around the world, I employ a lot of people, they are all in Indonesia now that my managers have sent American middle class jobs there. I am with you all the way! Let us rich people keep all of our money, let the little people pay for everything. Go GOP!!

You aren't greedy you are stupid.

We are spending 10 billion dollars a month over in Iraq, how are we going to pay for that giving out tax breaks to anyone?

No. The progressive taxation squads are nothing but class envy saturated, communal of thought "gimme" people. NO ONE is entitled to others earnings or private property.

How is it greedy if it it is for other people?

It'd be greedy if you were beyond wealth and want lower taxes for yourself so you don't lose money.

To paraphrase the old saying, try getting a job from a poor man.

Nope I don't think so...I'm not a millionaire, but I dont think that they should be taxed as much as they do.
