With our media it is getting very hard to tell if this war in Iraq is over oil or over religion. I am starting to wonder if it all boils down to who controls the holy land. Why else has there been fighting there Jesus died?

It is about enriching the very rich. When you stir the pot in a oil region it causes the prices to go up and anybody that is invested in it gets richer. What else do you think we went to Iraq about. Bush sucks.

hi..you have a complex question there. the partial answer to your question...yes, a portion of the reason for the Iraq war is "oil" -- but that is not the whole story. To have a dictatorial regime...like saddam hussein had in Iraq for decades is bad -- for the whole Middle East, i.e. bad example. Plus of course -- the oil money gives way to un-necessary armements etc...and makes the whole region "war explosive". This is again part of the reason -- the USA and UK believed that Irak was hiding -- dangerous armements...so before any harm was done to the western interests -- the opportunity was taken to strike first. again this is part of the western answer....there are as many theories...as there are writers and politicians who dare to speak on the subject. Read all of them...good luck...and come to your own conclusion.

I do not think it is about the holy land because the people there are sure NOT HOLY BY LONG MEANS!!!! the war as far as we are concerned was to keep the a nation from training terrorist to wage their kind of war on the U.S. plus others they think that's in the way of them conquering the world. You may say I am crazy but listen to what they say!!!

The confusion comes from four seperate wars rolled into one, starting with the original fight for control of holy land from 3000 years ago.

In times past, it was entirely about who owned the land. It's anyone's guess what it's about anymore.

Texas is known for rich oil deposits so why raid other countries when you can use your own resources? Unless all you want is control over other nations and the ground they walk on.

It's about terrorism, or have you been asleep for the last 10 years? It is NOT about oil. If it were about oil, our country would demand repayment for giving the Iraqi's there "freedom" to become a "democracy", and rebuilding their country. And we would accept payment not in money, but with oil. But we aren't.

If it was about religion we would have demanded Israel give us Jerusalem, if it was about oil we would have invaded Canada or Saudi Arabia.
